Mossley Academy enjoyed their biggest win in five years when beating Witton Albion 7-1 at Seel Park on Thursday afternoon.

On the front foot from the off, Mossley took control of the game playing some great pass and move football with Djalo and Lopez pulling the strings superbly in midfield.

The threatened opening goal came in the 16th minute when Alieu Bass finished smartly from a great right wing cross.

The second was scored on 24 minutes as Sarwah Karbah unleashed a superb 'daisy-cutter' shot from the edge of the box that flew into the far corner.

It took only a further six minutes for Mossley to make it 5-1 with three quickfire goals. Alieu Bass completing a 12 minute hat-trick with goals in the 25th and 28th minutes and Chieck Doumbouy rifling home his first Mossley goal in the 30th minute.

The goal-rush was followed by a lull and Witton enjoyed their best spell of the game that saw keeper Bardsley called into action making a couple of good diving saves before Witton reduced the arrears with a well taken goal by Porter.

The second half was broken up by injuries and substitutions but Mossley still added two further goals. Chieck Doumbouy side-stepped the keeper to make it 6-1 on 64 minutes and the final goal saw midfielder Isaac Lopez scoring with a delicate volley from a great through ball on 81 minutes to make it 7-1 and complete a great day's work for the Mossley boys.
